Apple unveild iPad Mini, Mac Mini, iMac and New MacBook Pro 13 in San Jose

Apple today officially unveiled the iPad mini with a 7.9-inch 1024×768 pixel display, which is the same resolution as the iPad 2. Starting from $329 for the 16GB Wi-Fi only model and $459 for the 16GB Wi-Fi + Cellular (3G and LTE) variant with $100 increments for more storage. Apple claims that the iPad mini is small enough to be operable with one hand and weighs 308 grams. It also claims that the iPad mini offers 35 percent greater display surface area than the Nexus 7

The new hardware is 7.2mm thick, .68 pounds heavy and has been manufactured with a new process with the same anodized edges as the iPhone 5. The iPad Mini has a Dual-core A5 processor, FaceTime HD camera and 5-megapixel iSight camera on the back with 1080p recording. Apple is also claiming a 10 hour battery Life. The new iPad mini will also come with a cellular LTE capable modem, basically a separate variant. It also has a dual-band Wi-Fi modem now as well as a Lightning port instead of the old 30-pin connector. Even the front facing FaceTime camera has been bumped to 1.2-megapixel with 720p video shooting.  Both the iPad 4th and the Mini will be up for pre order on the 26th of October, shipping 2nd November.

New Apple Mac Mini Launched

Along with the new versions of the iPad. Apple also launched an updated version of the Mac Mini. The new Mini’s have new processors, including quad-core models on the high end, as well as new built-to-order RAM options of up to 16GB. The new Mac Mini features four USB 3.0 ports, a thunderbolt port, a firewire 800 port, a HDMI port, a SD card reader and gigabit Ethernet 
The base model, which starts at Rs 39,900, features a dual-core Intel i5 processor that is clocked at 2.5GHz, 4GB of RAM and a 500GB hard drive. Apple also sells a version, which is powered by a quad-core Intel i7 processor clocked at 2.3GHz, 4GB of RAM and a 1TB hard drive. This version costs Rs 52,900. Another version that runs on OS X Server has also been made. This version of the Mac Mini has the same specs as the Rs 52,900 model but instead boasts twin 1TB hard drives and it costs RS 65,900.

Apple has also refreshed the new iMac with the latest processors and a new super slim design that will be the envy of all. Just 5mm thick at the edges, constructed with “friction stir welding” as well as a gapless, less reflective display that’s laminated together with the glass. Apple has released 21.5-inch and 27-inch variants. Notably, Apple innovated on the hard drive space front with its Fusion drive that combines flash and hard drive based memory in one enclosure to provide the best of both worlds and faster data speed at high capacities.

The base 21.5-inch model rocks a quad-core Intel i5 processor clocked at 2.7GHz, 8GB of RAM, 1TB of storage and has an Nvidia GeForce GT 640M GPU, which will cost Rs 85,900. The higher-end 21.5-inch model will feature a faster quad-core Intel i5 processor clocked at 2.9GHz, 8GB of RAM, 1TB hard drive and an Nvidia GeForce 650M GPU. All this will cost Rs 99,900. The 21.5-inch models will have a display with a resolution of 1920×1080 pixels.
 The 27-inch model will start at Rs 122,900 and will be powered by a quad-core Intel i5 processor clocked at 2.7GHz, 8GB of memory, 1TB and an Nvidia GeForce 660M GPU. The higher-end 27-inch model will cost Rs 134,500 and will have a quad-core Intel i5 CPU clocked at 3.2GHz, 8GB of memory, 1TB of storage, and an Nvidia GeForce GTX 660MX GPU. The 27-inch models will boast a resolution of 2560×1600 pixels, which happens to be the same as the 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display.

Apple says that the 21.5-inch iMac will hit the shelves in November while the 27-inch model will take a month longer and will be available in December.

Apple announces new MacBook Pro 13 Retina Display


Apple has launched a new Macbook Pro 13 Retina Display, amongst the many things the company is going to reveal. The new Macbook Pro 13 inch with retina is just .75-inches thick.” That’s 20% thinner than before”. Its also only 3.5 pounds, about a full pound lighter than before, and the lightest MacBook ever. The Macbook Pro Retina 3 inch has a 2,560 x 1,600 resolution, That’s a 4x boost from the original Macbook Pro 13 incher.

Apple has launched a 13.3-inch version of the MacBook Pro with Retina Display.  The 13-inch MacBook Pro with Retina Display starts at Rs 114,900 in India and goes all the way up to Rs 134,900. The new 13.3-inch Retina Display has a lower resolution than the 15-inch model at 2560×1600 pixels. The base model features a dual-core 2.5GHz Intel i5 processor, 8GB of RAM, 128GB of flash storage and a rated battery life of up to 7 hours.
As far as the I/O is concerned like the 15-inch MacBook Pro with Retina display, it has two thunderbolt ports, three USB 3.0 ports, a MagSafe connector, a HDMI connector, a SD card reader and an audio jack. At 0.75-inches it is thinner than even 1-inch and of course this has happened because Apple has eliminated the optical drive from the product.
