The latest Italian supercarLamborghini Aventador Roadster is now here in India to offer wind-in-the-hair sensation to Indian customers. Indian market is indeed a very prospective and flourishing market that is why the supercar Lamborghini Aventador Roadster has come in to the country just within three months of its official launch. And truly has shown the company’s dedication headed for Indian auto sector
Lamborghini India is the Indian unit of Automobiles Lamborghini, which is owned by German automobile major Volkswagen Group.
“India is a small market, contributing to less than 1 per cent of our global sales. Numbers are not relevant, but this launch will further strengthen our presence in the emerging Indian super-luxury sports car segment, India is slowly accepting the super cars as a mode to realise aspirations and we are hopeful of the success we can achieve here. We believe that our portfolio of legendary supercars has what it takes to satisfy the discerning Indian market” said Andrea Baldi, Sales Manager, South East Asia and Pacific, Automobiles Lamborghini.
The newly launched Aventador LP 700-4 Roadster is housed with a 12 cylinder 6.5- litre power train, which is able to churn out 700 PS power and 690 Nm torque. Competent to accelerate 0-100 kmph in just 3.0 seconds, the luxury supercar Roadster can attain maximum speed of 350 kmph.
Two aerodynamic aids have also been added. A powered rear windscreen controls the airflow over the car and the amount of noise from the engine that passengers can hear with the roof down. A removable wind deflector also features and sits on top of the front windscreen to “deliver almost complete calm” in the cabin with the roof off.
The Roadster’s engine cover has also changed from the coupe’s. It features a ‘spinal column’ with two lines of hexagonal windows. The two scissor doors also get a chamfered edge for the frameless windows to ensure a flush finish into the new roof.
To further distinguish the Aventador Roadster from the coupé, the bodywork gets a two-tone finish. Gloss black is used for the pillars, roof and rear window area. A new Azzuro Thetis colour is inspired by the colour of the 1968 Miura Roadster, is also offered on the Roadster.
New 20-inch front and 21-inch rear lightweight alloy wheels, which reduce the kerb weight by 10kg, are another Roadster-only addition.
Lamborghini India has set big targets for this New Year 2013. Currently the company has two outlets in the country in Mumbai and Delhi. So, customers need to buy a Lamborghini from either Delhi or Mumbai showroom. The after sales services of these cars are handled by the Lamborghini dealers through the country at various customers points. It looks like, customers call for more dealerships for Lamborghini cars in India and same is likely to be heard by the carmaker, till than Mumbai and Delhi outlets will serve the customers.
