Exclusive Pics: Maruti Suzuki to Launch 4 New Mid Segment SUVs By 2015

Maruti Suzuki India has been by far the top-gun in India when it comes to selling cars and the company is the leader in almost every segment in which it’s cars are present. The company has not been able encash in on the fasting heating up SUV segment in the country because of the absence of SUVs from its lineup (Grand Vitara is present in the lineup, but it has not sold a single unit for quite some time). Maruti Suzuki intends on encashing in on the SUV segment in near future and has quite the plans for it as well. Force Also Launched its Gurkha Yesterday.

The segment became richer when Renault came up with Duster and it became a huge hit instantly! Now we’re awaiting Ford EcoSport to be launched pretty soon to add some spice. Mahindra is working on an All New Scorpio which is due for launch in 2014. And the list goes on and on…

Grande Vitara Crossover

So In our List The First One is New Sub-4 Meter SUV is Grande Vitara Crossover. As We Know That Maruti had Already Launched  Grande Vitara Many Year Before. But Grande Vitara Was Failed to Impress Indian Consumer As it Was Priced way to High And Also The Diesel Variant was Not Also Available.

So, Now Maruti Expect a Whole New Journey With  Grande Vitara Crossover as we Expect that company will Launch it in Diesel Variant, Expect it to be powered by a 1.3-litre diesel and 1.4-litre petrol powerplant from the Ertiga. Price Should be Placed Aggressively under 6 Lakh To Put it Directly in Competition with FordEcosport.

SX4 Crossover

The Second Car In a List Is SX4 Crossover, Suzuki's SX4 Crossover is a small wagon that benefits from SUV styling cues. The SX4 is built on a solid platform, and the suspension is tuned to make this crossover more fun to drive than expected from a car with as much functionality. The steering is responsive, the chassis is balanced and the 4-wheel-drive system can be locked for maximum traction in adverse conditions. The 2.0-liter engine doesn't deliver a lot of power, but the 6-speed manual transmission adds to the fun factor and helps to achieve 30 mpg highway. A tall roofline allows the SX4 Crossover to make the most of its compact size, with good headroom and decent rear-seat or cargo space

The small car feels peppy, and the manual transmission helped. The rear seat is short on legroom, but folded down there's quite a bit of usable cargo space. Now We Have To See That In Which Price Segment will it Come to India To Rivals The Other SUV in this Segment.

Suzuki C-Segment Crossover

The C-Segment crossover segment is the most lucrative car segment as of now with people developing a certain affinity towards the compact crossovers. Suzuki has not revealed all the details about the car, but has told that the crossover will come with an altogether new all wheel drive system which has been developed in house we believe. Also, the car will get the all wheel drive as on option with the standard variants featuring a front wheel drive system.

We Got Some Picture of New C-Segment Crossover Testing on Road, The upcoming C-segment crossover is based on the S-Cross concept. The car will get both petrol and diesel engines as option. The petrol heart is likely to be made in-house with the diesel heart coming from the Fiat. We believe that will be the next generation of Multi-jets. It will be longer than 4 meters in length and will stand at 4310 mm. The car will measure 1840 mm in length and the height will stand at 1600 mm. The car will have a size equivalent to Duster but Maruti might just manage to squeeze in more space than the Duster to give it an edge.

The car will be built at Suzuki’s Hungarian facility and it will hit the roads towards the fag end of the year 2013. The global roll out will be a phased one and the car will reach the Indian shores in the first wave is what we believe seeing that India is quite the lucrative market for such crossovers. It is also be expected to be built in India as well. The car will come at a decent price tag and shall make life difficult for the likes of the Duster and the EcoSport.

XA Alpha SUV

With the success of the Mahindra XUV 5OO and Renault Duster, Maruti Suzuki unveiled its own all-new mini-SUV, the XA Alpha concept at the 2012 Auto Expo in Delhi. Based on the Swift platform and sticking to the SUV DNA this new mini-SUV has extremely short front and rear overhangs, funky headlights, and thick C-pillar. The interiors are likely to be similar to the Swift and Swift Dzire. It will sport the K-series petrol engine and 1.3-litre diesel powerplant. It will be interesting to see how this one is priced below 7 lakhs or Above it.

The Maruti XA Alpha concept showcased at the 2012 Auto Expo will also make its way to the production lines in year 2015 so we can expect a launch in late 2014.

Swift Dizire SUV Crossover

Suzuki is working on a sedan on the Swift platform (dubbed Swift 3.99) that will replace the Dzire next year. Post the Swift 3.99 project, will they dare to think of something off-beat such as Pankaj’s creation to challenge the likes of the Renault Duster and Ford’s next generation EcoSport? Our hunch is by retaining chunks of the Swift’s design, customers will need no introduction to the new derivative. The car can come under the Swift umbrella and that’s the best present any Suzuki product can dream of in India.

Suzuki does not have a bigger diesel engine, and that’s the minus point they need to address. The Volkswagen-Suzuki relationship has turned sour forcing Suzuki to look up to Fiat for filling this void. The 1.6-liter Multi-jet engine is a great idea for the Swift crossover and Maruti can place it besides the SX4 sedan.

Indian car buyers bought 57 per cent more SUVs in the first 10 months of the fiscal year, Society of Indian Automobile Manufacturers data show, spurring carmakers to rush new models to showrooms.
