Korean Car Manufacturer Ssangyong revealed their latest MPV, the Rodius Turismo in their home country. The biggest talk about the Rodius Turismo is that it is a 11-seater premium vehicle which Ssangyong prefers to call it MLV which translates to Multi Leisure Vehicle. Although it stands best for use in long leisure drives, this MLV will also justify off-roading, in the city and for business purposes too. After Mahindra S101 Suv Leaked and The Success Of Ssangyong Rexton In India Mahindra Is Planing To Launch Rodius in India. The Best Tagline Rodius Can get Is "Its Not a Car, Its a Carrrrrrrrr" Yes, its a Real Carrrrr in India If Mahindra Decided it to Launch. Lets Find Out Why it is a Carrrrrrrr??.....
If i Tell You that This car was Previously Titled "One of the Ugliest Car" By Crictics, Than you Will Not Surely Believe Me. Yes, But thats is true, Now i Think that Rodius Designers Have taken that Tag too Seriously and Now in 2013 they have taken its Design in Other World. The Mahindra Group with its South Korean subsidiary brand SsangYong is now planning to bring the Rodius MPV from the SsangYong stable to India to increase its utility vehicle portfolio. Recently, SsangYong showcased the new Rodius MPV with different versions at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show. The Rodius is a big luxury SUV available in 7, 9 and 11 seat layouts
The Rodius Turismo is the result of two and a half years of dedicated research and investment of about $165 million, thereby allowing Ssangyong to boast of an innovative, premium quality product in their stable. There have been talks previously about Ssangyong considering the Rodius 5-seater to be their second product in the Indian market after the Rexton. Considering the demand for MPV’s in India the 11-seater Rodius Turismo could also be launched in India. Anand Mahindra, Chairman and MD of Mahindra tweeted about their new MLV and expressed his excitement and it’s potential for the Indian market.
Earlier, SsangYong Korando SUV was in question for the next offering from the SsangYong stable after the Rexton but now the Rodius MPV is said to be the next offering from the Mahindra–SsangYong product portfolio for India. The SsangYong Rodius MPV features the all new 4-cylinder, 2.0-litre turbo diesel engine with variable geometry turbo charger producing 156 BHP of power and 360 Nm of torque, mated to an option of a 6-speed manual gearbox and a 5-speed automatic transmission, transmitting the power to the rear wheels as standard, while all-wheel drive comes with the top spec variant.
The Mahindra SsangYong Korando Turismo is a full size van in the real sense, with a massive length of 5130 mm. It is quite wide at 1915 mm, with a height of 1815 mm. The wheelbase is a ridiculous 3000 mm. The Korando Turismo will be sold in 9, 10 or 11-seat configurations, offered in Luxury Touring (LT), Grand Touring (GT) and Royal Touring (RT) variants. The vehicle will be feature rich with touch screen display, navigation, ABS, airbags, sunroof, projector headlights, etc being offered on the top end variant.
The ride quality comprises of independent suspension setup at the front and independent multi-link setup at the rear. The humongous 3-metre wheelbase allows the Rodius to accommodate 11 seats easily. The Rodius MPV comes well equipped with safety and convenience features including ABS, EBD, Brake Assist, ESP, Anti-Roll Over Protection, Airbags etc. SsangYong has reportedly invested quite a bit of money into its new Rodius, and says the result is a utility vehicle with "executive saloon style ride quality."
