Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 10.1 and Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 announced

Samsung has just announced that the Galaxy Tab 3 will be coming in two more variants. While we have already seen the 7-inch version, the company said that two new 8-inch and 10.1-inch versions will be coming to markets around the globe in the beginning of June. This Means that Samsung Is Trying To Hold The Tablet Market More Strongly Against The Apple i-pad. On the face of it specs are not ground breaking, but if one goes through the spec sheet of the 10.1 Model is Remarkable Good.....

The specifications of the 8-inch Galaxy Tab 3 are in sync with previous rumours. The tablet is powered by a 1.5GHz dual-core processor alongside 1.5GB of RAM. It also comes loaded with a 5-megapixel rear camera and a 1.3-megapixel front facing camera. The device has a 8-inch WXGA TFT display with a resolution of 1280X800 pixels. Available in 32GB and 64GB variants, the tablet also offers expandable storage up to 64GB via a microSD card. All these specifications are backed by a 4,450mAh battery.

The Galaxy Tab 3 8.0 will also feature a proper LTE radio, meaning you can browse the web easily on the go. The screen is the only real weak part of the whole setup. At 1280 x 800, the 189 ppi display isn’t as high resolution as a lot of the competition. The Galaxy Tab 3 8, is even slimmer at 7.4mm and weighs just 314 grams. Like the 10.1-inch model it runs on Android 4.2.

On the 10″ model, Samsung has opted to stick with a 1280×800 display resolution on the 10-inch Tab 3, meaning you’ve got the same pixel count as the Samsung Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, only spread over a much larger area. The 10.1 model has a display with a resolution of 1280×800 pixels, it has a 3-megapixel rear camera and 1.3-megapixel front facing camera and is available in 32GB and 16GB variants, and the memory can be expanded further via the microSD card slot. It also has 1GB of RAM and an 6,800 mAh battery and runs on Android 4.2 Jelly Bean. Samsung has really slimmed it down at 7.95 mm, and it weighs only 510 grams.

The tablet also offers the option of memory expansion up to 64GB through an external microSD card slot. When compared to Galaxy Tab 3 8.0, the rear camera on this device is less powerful with a 3-megapixel shooter. This tablet has a 6,800mAh battery capacity.

Samsung says, both the tablets will be offered in Wi-Fi only, and 3G and LTE (dependent on markets) enabled versions. Both the tablets will be shipping globally by the beginning of June. There’s no word of any official release date or price just yet, however. They also come pre-loaded with Samsung applications and services such as Samsung Hub, ChatOn, S Translator, S Travel, Pop up Video and WatchON.

The presence of Intel’s chip in Samsung’s tablet is perhaps the bigger story out here. While the tablets on their own don’t really stand out in terms of specs, it seems like Intel is making headway in the mobile market with its new Atom chips. Only earlier in the day we saw Asus announce multiple tablets that were powered by Intel silicon.
