Sony SmartWatch 2 Launched Against Galaxy Gear In India For Rs 14,990

After The Samsung Has Launched Samsung Galaxy Gear for its Note 3, Sony Has Also Brought Its SmartWatch 2 with Xperia Z1 But it Not Only For Xperia Z1 it can Support All Android Device Running Android 4.0 ( ICS ). Sony Xperia Z1 Launched by Bollywood Actress Katrina Kaif as We know Katrina Is Endorsing Sony Smartphone. The SmartWatch 2 was initially announced in June and Sony had promised that it would be available 'worldwide' in September.

The Sony SmartWatch 2 comes with a bigger 1.6-inch screen with higher resolution 220x176 pixels resolution, compared to the 1.3-inch screen 128x128 display on its predecessor. Sony is positioning the watch as a second-screen for your Android smartphones, letting you receive notifications from the phone as well as control its functionality.

SmartWatch 2 makes it possible to access notifications from your wrist such as messages, calls, email, Facebook or Twitter, Calendar, or use it as a remote for your Walkman or other digital media player. The SmartWatch 2 comes with a bunch of pre-installed apps, with an option to load other apps as well.

SmartWatch 2 does have NFC for easy pairing with Android devices that support it, as well as more battery life, a better, higher resolution screen, and water/environment resistance that should keep your device protected from general grit and submersion at 3 feet for up to 30 minutes. Sony’s also doing a big push for bringing third-party apps to the SmartWatch software platform, which could help narrow the gap there.

The Other things you can do with the SmartWatch 2 include:
  • Take a photo remotely from your SmartWatch, using a smart camera app.
  • Control your presentations remotely using Presentation Pal.
  • Taking a run or on the bike? Select a mapping app on SmartWatch to check your route with a quick glance at your wrist.
  • Read previously downloaded e-mails when not connected to your phone.
  • Use lifestyle apps like Runtastic to map and instantly track your fitness activities on the go.
  • Quickly adjust the tracks and volume on your music player.

Though the Galaxy Gear comes with some extra features that makes it more worthy, however a good price difference could attract more users towards the Sony SW2. Moreover the Gear only works with Galaxy Note 3 or devices running Android 4.3 and as for the Sony Smartwatch 2 it supports devices running 4.0. But naturally the low price and compatibility makes SW2 a default option as Galaxy Gear Will Cost You For Rs 22900

Sony says there are a lot of apps for the device available on the Play Store and many more are on their way. Right out of the box, you can control the phone’s music player, get alerts and even control the phone’s camera. So your phone could be pointing at the subject and you can see the viewfinder on the watch and click the photo.

The real question, however, is whether there is really a market for a device like it for this price. It’s interesting to see both Samsung and Sony have taken different routes but at the moment they are just coming up with proofs of concepts trying to gauge what clicks with the users. While Sony’s watch provides spartan features and is compatible with most Android smartphones, Samsung has tried to cram it with features and made it a companion device for its premium Galaxy range of smartphones.
