Two of the latest smartphones in the new LG 'L Series III' range, the L70 Dual and L90 Dual, are now available in India via an e-commerce website for Rs. 14,500 and Rs. 17,499 respectively. However, both the devices L70 Dual and L90 Dual are yet to be officially launched by the company. Snapdeal.com has already started selling the devices and promises to dispatch them in 12 business days.
LG L70 and L90 phones were unveiled at the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. The smartphones come with Android 4.4 KitKat, the latest version of the OS. These phones also include a feature called Knock Code, which lets users unlock the phone by tapping the phone in a specified manner.
The L70 sports a 4.5-inch WVGA IPS display with 800 x 400 pixels of resolution. It comes powered by a dual-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 200 processor clocked at 1.2GHz, coupled with 1GB of RAM. On the storage front, one can expect 4GB onboard storage along with support for microSD card slot. The maximum support for external storage isn’t mentioned.
The device comes equipped with an 8-megapixel rear snapper and a 1.3-megapixel front-facing camera. Like most of the low to mid budget smartphones, one can expect dual SIM capability too. The L70 is fuelled by a 2100mAh battery. The connectivity options include Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. The dimensions of the device are 127.2 x 66.8 x 9.5mm.
On The Other Hand, L90 runs on Android 4.4 with 1GB RAM, 8GB storage and 32GB micro SD card support. The IPS LCD screen is 4.7 inches with corning gorilla glass 2 protection and supporting resolution of (960 x 540) pixels.
In terms of cameras, it has a fairly standard 8-megapixel rear snapper and a 1.3-megapixel front camera. There’s no mention of an OIS module, like on the LG G2. The L90 gets 8GB onboard storage along with microSD card slot for up to 32GB cards. One of the best features is the 2,540mAh battery, which should deliver day-long usage considering the other specs.
A price tag of Rs 14,500 places the L70 in the same price bracket as the Moto G. Considering the great demand, it looks like the Moto G has a Lead, at least in terms of price and specs. However, the L90 could be a darkhorse for LG considering its quad-core processor and the large battery. It also helps that both phones run Android 4.4.2 KitKat, the latest version of the OS.
