The Samsung Galaxy K zoom is the second camera specialised-smartphone from the company, the first being the Galaxy S4 Zoom. Samsung has given a 4.8 inch Super AMOLED display that boasts HD resolution of 1280×720 pixels. The Super AMOLED panel integrates the capacitive touch screen layer directly onto the display in order to render a thinner design that also consumers less power and reflects less light thereby making the display visible even in outdoors.
The Galaxy K Zoom is powered by the new Exynos 5260 hexa-core chipset housing a 1.7 GHz dual-core Cortex A15 processor and a 1.3 GHz quad-core Cotex A7 processor. This chipset is coupled with Mali-T624 GPU and 2 GB of RAM that can deliver acceptable multi-tasking capabilities. This chipset was also incorporated in the Galaxy Note 3 Neo and it is said to support to big.LITTLE with HMP that ensures that all the six cores work simultaneously.
The Galaxy K zoom sports a 20.7-megapixel BSI CMOS sensor at the back accompanied by a Xenon flash and also features optical image stabilizer (OIS) for low-light imaging. The rear camera supports 10x optical zoom. The rear camera comes with some advanced camera usability features and functions, including AF/AE Separation (/Auto Focus/ Auto Exposure Separation); Pro Suggest mode that offers 5 optimized filter settings, Selfie Alarm offers users to take timed selfies. The Galaxy K zoon also houses a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. Obviously, the handset has attractive camera capabilities and there is no surprise in this regard.
To meet the storage needs of the users, the Galaxy K Zoom bundles 8 GB of native storage space that is too low to store the operating system, related software features and applications. However, users can expanded this storage up to 64 GB as there is a micro SD card slot on the phone.
The Galaxy K Zoom comes fueled with Android 4.4 KitKat out-of-the-box and it is topped with the latest version of TouchWiz UI. Connectivity is handled by a slew of features such as 4G, 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS and NFC. Also, there are features such as S Health Lite, Ultra Power Saving Mode, Studio app and many others.
The Galaxy K Zoom draws power from a mediocre 2,430 mAh battery that sounds average, but the backup delivered by this battery is still not disclosed by the vendor. The handset weight is 200 grams and is 16.6mm thick. Unfortunately, the South Korean giant has not announced any pricing and availability details of the Galaxy K zoom.
