In Details: Too Many Maruti Suzuki Ciaz aka Alivio spotted at Maruti Plant, Launch Nearby

Ahhh!! Maruti is planning to bring Ciaz to the Indian Market and wit the spied picture we can say that too gona Happen soon. Maruti has realized that their lonely SX4 cannot beat the leader like Honda City, Hyundai Verna, VW Vento, Skoda Rapid but soon things gona change for Maruti. Showcased as a concept at the 2014 Auto Expo in February this year, the Ciaz will also be sold in China christened as the Alivio and is scheduled for launch in the coming weeks.

Suzuki Alivio is spied in China along with its predecessor SX4. Suzuki Alivio bears chrome front grille with horizontal slats of different form than those seen in Maruti Ciaz. While headlight unit with projector lamp is similar in these two models, fog lamps of Alivio get chrome stylish inserts. At rear end, Suzuki Alivio gets slightly tweaked reflectors and chrome accents partially encasing it.

There has been greater emphasis on rear seat comfort and the Maruti Ciaz offers an almost flat floor for better legroom. The interiors have been finished in dual-tone shades with wood inserts and chrome accents to complete the premium look. You also get rear air-con vents, while a centre arm rest is also included with cup holders. Suzuki will be offering a host of features on the top-end variants of the Ciaz with the equipment list including 16-inch alloy wheels, start-stop system, automatic climate control, multi-function steering wheel, improved infotainment system and much more.

Here are the first spied pictures of more than 2,500 Ciazs  at Maruti’s Manesar plant just about to be dispatched to dealerships and the dealers will start taking bookings from September 1.

In India, the Maruti Suzuki Ciaz will be powered by the 1.4-litre K-Series petrol motor from the Ertiga , paired to a 5-speed manual and a CVT automatic transmission. Diesel duties on the other hand will be performed by the 1.3-litre DDiS engine sourced from Fiat, mated to only a 5-speed manual transmission.

The Maruti Ciaz will be sold with petrol and diesel engines that’ll come in three trims –  VXi/VDi, VXi+/VDi+ and ZXi/ZDi to be precise. There will also be a choice of manual and automatic transmissions. Electrically adjustable ORVMs, music system, rear defogger, projector headlamps, rear AC vents, central locking and speed sensing door locks are standard. The top end variants will come with climate control, push button start, 5-inch TFT display for the music system with parking assist and safety features such as ABS, EBD and dual airbags.

Word around the industry is that Maruti aims to have around 7,000 Ciaz cars ready before the launch. This is to avoid delays in deliveries and  prolonged waiting periods. The rear looks resemble like Honda city and fluidic design inspired by Verna you can ignore these things after all  I always say “Beauty doesn’t mean Copying” To be priced around INR 7.5 – 10.5 lakhs, ex-Showroom
