Vroooooooooooooooooooooooooooom!! Oops! You flashed yours eyes and you miss our article that’s how fast Range Rover Sports SVR is. Land Rover has revealed the new Range Rover Sport SVR for the international markets. It is the fastest production SUV around the Nurburgring circuit. It is Dubbed as the fastest Land Rover to be built ever.
A product of the Jaguar Land Rover Special Vehicle Operations team, the all-terrain Sport SVR is billed as the "most dynamically focused Land Rover vehicle ever produced" and is the first Land Rover model to bear the SVR badge. Land Rover says that it put a lot of work into the looks of the Range Rover Sport SVR to reflect its track-worthy nature, but at first glance, it still comes across as a fairly standard Range Rover profile with a strong lateral line that makes it look a bit smaller than its 115.1 in (2,923 mm) wheelbase.
The side profile is further accentuated by a new fender vent design, while the crease lines also get mild changes. Upgrades on the rear include a roof mounted spoiler, new gloss black diffuser, quad exhaust tips and of course the ‘SVR’ badge. You also get black painted roof, pillars and mirror caps, while the headlights and tail lights have been darkened. Made mostly of aluminum, Land Rover says that the Sport SVR's chassis has been retuned for greater agility. It’s covered by an all-aluminum unibody that is 39 percent lighter than the previous version, yet is stronger and stiffer and is available in a choice of seven color palettes
Under the bonnet is that supercharged, all-aluminum, longitudinal V8, 32 Quad cam Dual Independent Variable Cam Timing, high-pressure direct injection, 5-liter engine that blasts 550 bhp (404 kW) and 502 ft lb (680 Nm) of torque – that’s a 40 bhp (29 kW), 41 ft lb (55 Nm) boost over the standard supercharged V8 paired to a ZF sourced 8-speed automatic transmission sending power to all four wheels. Fuel economy is, not surprisingly, far from the top of the class, but is typical for a Range Rover with 14 mpg (16.8 L/100 km) city and 19 mpg (12.3 L/100 km) highway.
In terms of performance figures, the performance SUV can even put some sports cars to shame. 0-100 km/hr comes up in just 4.6 seconds, while the top speed is limited to 260 km/hr. Don’t forget, the Range Rover Sport SVR is also the fastest SUV on the ‘Ring and holds a lap record of just 8 minutes and 14 seconds covering 20.8 Km (13 miles) of Nurburgring circuit
Step inside the luxurious cabin and the Range Rover Sport SVR gets several sporty elements that compliment the exteriors. The performance SUV gets sports seats with a 14-way adjustable feature. The second row on the other hand makes room for accommodating three instead of two passengers. The cabin is finished in a dual-tone shade of ebony black and cirrus white and has the seats upholstered in Oxford leather.
The Range Rover Sport SVR comes with 21-inch wheels with 275/45 all-season tyres as standard, but customers can also opt for 22-inch alloys with 295/40 Continental SportContact 5 tyres. The Range Rover Sport will make its official public debut on 14th August and comes with a starting price of $1,10,475 (Rs. 67.51 lakhs) in the US
