Recently, Yu made its debut in the Indian market and launched its first smartphone called the Yureka. The brand is backed by Micromax and the Indian smartphone vendor signed a deal with Cyanogen to offer support to the Yu-branded smartphones. Well the real competator for Micromax Yureka is Redmi Note 4G not the redmi Note 3G as it can’t take the hotness of Yureka and will backfire…
The Yu Yureka measures 154.8x78x8.8mm and weighs less than 199 grams, while the Redmi Note 4G measures 154 x 78.7 x 9.5 mm and weighs in at 199grams. Both the devices are given identical 5.5 inch IPS displays that carry HD screen resolution of 1280×720 pixels that result in a pixel density of 267 pixels per inch making them usable. The screen on the two devices is also protected by Gorilla Glass 3, so you won’t have to worry about scratches either. [Score 1 o’s 1]
In terms of hardware, the Micromax Yureka offering is energized by 64 bit octa core Snapdragon 615 SoC with Adreno 405 graphics unit and 2 GB of RAM. The Redmi Note, on the other hand, is powered by a Snapdragon 400 quad-core processor clocked at 1.6GHz. As for memory, the processors on both the devices are paired with 2GB of RAM. Both the devices feature 13 MP primary cameras accompanied with LED flash and f/2.2 aperture to render better performance even under low light conditions. Also, there is support for shooting FHD 1080p videos. In addition, both arrive with 5 MP front facing selfie cameras to capture self portrait shots and for video conferencing.
However, the Micromax Yureka gets ahead as it comes with a blue filter that will balance the light intensity and comes with Sony Exmor lens for improved performance as seen on Redmi 1s the quality of Sony Exmor lens while Redmi Note 4G comes with Samsung sensor pretty decent one. [Score 3 o’s 1]
The Yureka bundles 16 GB of internal storage capacity, whereas Xiaomi smartphone packs 8 GB of storage space. What makes Yureka more special is its Operating system Cynogen. The Yu Yureka runs on Cyanogen OS 11 build, which is based on Android 4.4.4 KitKat, and an Android 5.0 Lollipop-based build is also promised by next year. It is a custom version of the Android mobile OSas it offers more features and more control over the device for the core users.
The Redmi Note 4G uses Xiaomi's native MIUI, based on Android 4.4, it is a feature-rich custom skin that gives users access to end number of themes, wallpapers, ringtones and other added features but as we know Xiaomi is slow in updating MIUI OS were Cynogen gets Update per Month [Score 4 o’s 2]
The Yu Yureka houses a 2500mAh Li-Po battery claiming talk time up to 8 hours and video playback time of up to six hours but don’t forget that Snapdragon processor are badly infamous for eating battery as well as heating the device with great power will be heated more plus 720p HD screen will be doing its business. I think the battery is not enough that much well we will see it when it will be available for user.
On the other hand the Redmi Note has 3,100mAh battery that will last for 15 to 17 hours. Both phones have been built with removable batteries. Note cannot excuse from the heating as well as Yureka but more battery juice will help it to last more. [Score 4 o’s 3]
Both The handset does support 4G LTE connectivity. The Chinese company Xiaomi has a tie up with Airtel to enhance its sale in India with the exiting offers. Additional features are 4G,3G, 2G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth and GPS. Yureka will be the first one to get Android L Update. Micromax has mentioned that users can root the phone if they want and it will not void the warranty same as Xiaomi
The Untold Story - However Yureka is re-branded coolpad F2 but Micromax Yureka is no were near about Xiaomi quality which comes with its Smartphone to break the myth they have to stop importing and build its own device one day. Well the truth behind dirty cheap price is, according to Zauba the Yureka device cost is 8,399 and with Amazon flash sale it helps control over the price and get rid of several taxes.
You can Simply Judge by their Score Micromax Yureka is a clear winner over Redmi Note 4G but still Redmi Note 4G score are not pretty bad. The Yureka has slightly better hardware, software, camera but fails on with less battery juice. While both could be excellent value for money offerings, the Yureka would be a better buy for those geeks who like experimenting with their device. While the Yu Yureka is even cheaper over the Redmi Note 4G for about Rs 1,000. Its might be second Best Smartphone from the Micromax after its Canvas 101 way back.
