Finally the World first Ubuntu Phone is here to Challenge the Kingdom of Android and Microsoft

Well there are not much operating System (OS) which has seen the popularity Like Microsoft, iOS and Android did recently Firefox (OS) dies in Hunt of its users.  Moving Further Ubuntu (OS) yet to see the rising star in the consumer hand in this case they day has been confirmed.  Spanish company BQ will be launching the first Ubuntu Phone on 9th of February 2015, for European market.

The device will be available from bq website through a series of flash sales. The model is bq Aquaris E4.5 which also has an Android version too.  Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition, the phone is built by the Spanish company BQ. The low-budget handset sports a 4.5-inch qHD display. 

It is powered by MediaTek Quad Core Cortex A7 processor clocked at 1.3 GHz paired with 1 GB of RAM and a Mali 400 GPU. The device has an internal storage capacity of 8 GB further can be expandable with 32 GB micro sd card and the handset comes with dual-SIM support.

It is equip with an 8 MP rear camera with dual-LED flash, and a 5 MP front-facing one with a battery of 2150mAh 

Interestingly, BQ will make the Aquaris E4.5 Ubuntu Edition available through a series of flash sales, the first of which will happen sometime next week. This emulates the model successfully employed by many Chinese companies, especially Xiaomi. The phone will only be out in Europe.

If we talk about Ubuntu: A new operating system means native apps need to build up. But Canonical, the company behind the operating system, doesn’t want its users to wait that long. It is making a way to port apps from its desktop Linux distribution Ubuntu to the Ubuntu Phones. So, around 1,000 apps would be available to download. It has been learnt that WhatsApp is not backing Ubuntu, so the instant messaging service will not be a part of it for now.

The phone is expected to be priced at $195 (somewhere around Rs. 12,000) and will go on sale in Europe on February 9 via flash sale model.
