Review: Lenovo A6000 is a Light Weight Monster with its Dolby Sound and 4G capability at Rs 7,000

After bringing you the Micromax Yureka Review we bring you yet another 4G device Lenovo A6000 ready to Rock & Roll in absence of Redmi 1s in the Market. So eventually there is No competitor of Lenovo A6000 in this category while Yureka lies in different category hence we will compare these two giants in our next post.

Overall Design

Lenovo A6000 doesn't look very different from other Android smartphones available at this price. It essentially sports the same rectangular form factor combined with rounded corners and a plastic shell, which we've seen in phones such as the Redmi 1S. While the device is essentially plastic, the matte-ish finish on the back, along with the slight curve near the rear edges, gives the device a premium feel

Measuring 71.04x140.87x8.07mm, the A6000 feels quite slim and durable in hand. Weighing just 128g the device feels light and looks like any superior smartphone and without the battery phone look like a joke just like a Dummy Models.

Display and Multimedia

Lenovo A6000 features a 5-inch IPS capacitive display with resolution support up to 720x1280 pixels at 294 Pixel's per inch. Frankly speaking I have seen better colour reproduction in Redmi 1s which have better 320 pixel density. Lenovo has also done cost cutting like the lack of Gorilla Glass. This not only makes the display weaker, but also diminishes the overall touch experience. Well i miss the Notification LED Light too.

Unfortunately the display lacks the premium feel like it's built but its viewing angle and touch responsive is brilliant until the Lenovo latest update has ruined it, poor Lenovo.

Powered by a Qualcomm MSM8916 Snapdragon Quad-Core SoC, the A6000 equips 1GB RAM and 8GB internal memory. This new generation SoC is quite popular and has been featured in several popular budget smartphone including Moto G 2nd Generation and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4G.

The dual sim phone supports 4G LTE connectivity with support for both FDD 1800MHz (Band 3) and TDD 2300MHz (Band 40) in addition to other popular connectivity options including Bluetooth 4.0 and 3G. Multitasking is mostly smooth and so is watching videos, browsing the web or listening to music. There were lag in high-end games but that are accepted

The highlight of this phone was the 8MP rear camera. The phone took some really good photos under outdoor sunlight and even indoors. The images clicked in ambient lighting offers great amount of details with ample colour presence.  However we also experiences slight visible noises in our picture. The autofocus is not fast enough in real time. The Camera Interference also resemble like Xiaomi Mi4 while the camera app is simple and easy to use. Editing option came inbuilt in camera Mode so you need not to download any other app

Well performance was quite good, played several 720p video were colour reproduction was quite good there were no lag in it. Overall, gaming and multitasking on the A6000 was satisfactory, with minimal lags and no crashes.  The In-hearing speaker is loud enough as well as the Loudspeaker at the back side. No issues with 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS and Bluetooth. I just unable to test 4G as it is not available in my area

The Ram is one of the Most biggest problem  in low-end phone from 1GB RAM minimum free space is 400 MB, and it will reduced as you start using the phone and install as many apps. Clean the memory as often as you can for better performance. The free RAM available could drop to as low as 90MB while surfing Internet. The latest update tweaks the Ram power enough to survive Multitasking. Benchmarks are as follow

  •  Quadrant Benchmark: 11148
  •  Antutu Benchmark: 19452
  •  Nenamark 2: 54.2
  •  Multi Touch: 5

Battery - Despite of having more battery juice of about 2300 mAh its battery is quite disappointing. In our testing while moderate use of Lenovo A6000 like playing HD Video browsing net for hours, attending calls it last for a Day.  Under normal circumstances though, you should be able to get through a full day without needing to charge the A6000

Dolby Sound

The Thing which makes it special & different from other Smartphone is the presence of “Dolby Sound” which makes its more delightful for your ears. In our test we found the video playback sound was quite clear & loud in a crowded place like Malls and Restaurants. In Dolby Sound System there is lot of option to play like Gaming, Music, Movie and there is also Custom option for Customizing as per your need but there is not much difference you can experience in the Sound Until you pin up the earphone which will take you to the whole new different level in short in the World of Music. Well I will advise you to buy Skullcandy, SoundMagic, or JBL earphone for the good experience of Dolby Sound not the one which came in the box pack.

The phone's default UI is devoid of an app drawer and app icons and widgets are spread across the home screens. The unified home screen-app launcher style may come across as user-friendly to people who have not used an Android phone before.

Final Verdicts

What I really like about it is their weekly Update which is Minimum in size from 7Mb to 22Mb not much utilizing the speed and no problem for 2G users, inspite of being 4G phone. The Lenovo A6000 is currently the best budget Android smartphone that you can buy. The Lenovo A6000 will also get the benefit of Redmi 1s absence in Market and there is no Competitor around it. It is a very good phone with 4G capability plus you can experience the Sound of Music with Dolby Sound around you, decent camera, better performance and not so good battery life inside a well-made body. Lenovo A6000 is the best smartphone available in its price. For any quires & Technical issues you can Join Lenovo A6000 Facebook Group
