Chinese Giant Xiaomi has open up the Matchbox and showed to the World their First Action Sport Rugged Camera is to be called “Yi Action Camera”. The new device shows the company's ambition to move beyond the smartphone market, and offer consumers the chance to buy in to a larger ecosystem of Xiaomi products.
The Yi is a compact Action camera made by the same partner who created Xiaomi’s Yi home camera and will connect to Xiaomi devices via a dedicated application. Weighing only 72grams the little camera can also be taken to a depth of 40 meters underwater, yet doesn’t appear to come with a protective casing like GoPro’s offerings.
The Yi itself features a 16-megapixel camera capable of shooting 1080p video at 60 frames per second — better on paper than the $130 GoPro Hero, which can only shoot 1080p footage at 30 frames per second, or 720p film at 60 frames. Unexpectedly for such a cheap device, the Yi also uses a high-quality image sensor from Sony (an Exmor R CMOS) and offers 64GB of built-in storage — twice what's available on the Hero. Like GoPro's offering, the Yi can be used up to 40 meters underwater and comes with a smartphone app that can remotely control the camera as well as edit and share newly-captured footage.
The Yi Camera actually trumps the specs of GoPro's entry-level camera with 1080P, 60fps video and up to 64GB of memory at about half the price (the $130 Hero has 1080/30p video and 32GB max storage). It also weighs significantly less at 72g, has a bigger battery and can go the same 40m (130 feet) underwater. To be fair, unlike the Hero, it doesn't come with a housing, mounts or the impeccable rep. But Xiaomi is offering a bunch of extra accessories, including a helmet mount and, yes, a cat harness.
Other specs include built-in WiFi for remote smartphone triggering the camera, It has4 Operating modes include; Photo, Time-lapse photo, Timed photo and Video and Share to social media within 10 seconds using the smartphone APP. The camera also features slow motion recording and time lapse effects. While Checkout its Video Quality when Yi Action Camera goes around the World
