Suzuki’s good old Jimny has entered its 17th year of production and is expected to soldier on for a couple of years until a replacement arrives but unlucky India Automotive sector didn’t even get a chance by Maruti Suzuki to get a ride on it.
This limited edition will be available only in the Italian market and production has been limited to just 100 units. The Suzuki Jimny Street brings colorful exterior details as well as more standard equipment.
The model features a Pearl White and Grey dual-color livery, orange accents on the hood scoop, fog light surrounds, mirror caps and roof bars, as well as an exclusive cover for the spare wheel featuring Jimny Street graphics and the Japanese “Kyo” kanji, which designates Japan’s former imperial capital Kyoto.
The Jimny limited edition also comes with some new features like ESC, tyre pressure monitoring system, eco-leather seats and an infotainment system with a 7-inch screen along with Bluetooth and satellite navigation.
The Suzuki Jimny continues to be powered by the same 1.3-litre, four-cylinder petrol engine churning out 85 PS of power. The engine is mated to a 5-speed manual transmission with low range and four-wheel-drive.
Unfortunately, the Jimny never ever see the Rising Sun in India as since the company is focussing on other SUVs (S-Cross, Vitara Brezza) for the domestic market. The Jimny Street is priced at $22,425 which translates to Rs. 14.30 lakhs.
