Mahindra is gearing to launch Mahindra XUV100 this year, so does testing are in its final stage. The New Test mule Wrapped in a new printed green cling-on camouflage, the XUV100 finally comes out from the check covers to show us some of its bold lines.
The Mahindra XUV100 has been spotted testing multiple times earlier with heavy camouflage. This compact SUV is expected to be based on an all-new monocoque platform. It will be borrowing style cues from its elder sibling-XUV500
The first image, showing the camouflaged fascia of the XUV100 reveals Scorpio like claws on the radiator grille. While the cabin will get a bench-type front seat and will feature a centre console mounted gear stick. The car gets a tall design offering all passengers a decent amount of headroom, a high seating position. The ground clearance is also high.
These green cling-on camouflage XUV100 seems to be the top-spec variant with all the necessary ingredients in it. The 6×2 spoke design for the alloys looks nice, though the gap between the tyres and the wheel arches is still too much.
The lower area on the doors is scooped out with thick plastic cladding at the bottom of the doors and on the area around the door sills. A semicircular arch emanating from above the tail lamps and ending halfway into the rear doors is another important design detail. The rear door gets a Chevrolet Beat like window panel mounted door handle, and black window frames.
The XUV100 will be powered by newly developed three-cylinder petrol and diesel engines. The XUV 100 / S101 will be powered by the 1.5 litre diesel that does duty on the TUV300 as well. Mahindra might also add another variant equipped with an AMT transmission.
As per the launch it could happen in December or January with a base model price of INR 4Lakhs ($6000) & top variant to cost around INR 6Lakhs ($9000) Though the car is small in size, it is expected to give an SUV-like experience and rival the Ford EcoSport
