We all are expecting that either Samsung Galaxy S7 or XiaomiMi 5 is amongst one of them to run Qualcomm's Snapdragon 820 chipset but surprisingly LeTV Le Max pro made everybody out of its way and appeared to be the first device of this New Year to support Snapdragon 820. Qualcomm at CES 2016 has revealed the first smartphone that will be powered by the new Snapdragon 820 processor is to be from Chinese brand LeTV's Le Max Pro.
Apart from the Snapdragon 820, the Le Max Pro will also pack features such as Qualcomm's Snapdragon Sense ID ultrasonic fingerprint technology that's claimed to be more secure than capacitive sensors.
Le Max Pro is bigger than an average phone. It has a 6.3-inch screen, a Quad-HD display of (2,560x1,440) pixel more like a phablet size. Le Max Pro comes covered with a metallic golden color, which resembles to Gold iPhone series.
The chip we've got here features four of Qualcomm's Kryo CPU cores clocked at 2.2GHz, along with an Adreno 530 GPU and 4GB of RAM. To recall, the Snapdragon 820 announced back in November comes with the all-new Qualcomm Kryo CPU which is claimed to have 2x performance and efficiency when compared to the Snapdragon 810. The Snapdragon 820 also packs the new Qualcomm Hexagon 680 DSP, which is claimed to bring improvements to performance and battery life. In terms of LTE speeds, the Snapdragon 820 supports LTE Category 12 download speeds of up to 600Mbps, and LTE Category 13 uplink speeds of up to 150Mbps. Chipset aside, Le Max Pro comes with either 32GB, 64GB or 128GB internal storage. The phone will also be the first commercial handset to feature Qualcomm’s Ultrasonic Fingerprint Sensor called as Sense ID. Qualcomm explains that the new Sense ID is much more reliable and secure than existing capacitive based fingerprint sensors. The main highlight of Sense ID is the use of an ultrasonic scanner to create extremely detailed 3D fingerprint maps. Plus, it works even under plastic, metal and other materials.
Apart from it, a 21-megapixel Sony rear camera, LeTV has also painted over Android 6.0 Marshmallow with its own custom UI. The company during the CES keynote also revealed that the Le Max Pro will support Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology that can charge the phone from 0 to 60 percent charge in 30 minutes. Another highlighted feature of the Le Max Pro is the support for the latest Wi-Fi 802.11 ad standard which is much faster than previous generations, since it adds a new frequency band, 60GHz.
About the pricing, the company didn’t reveal much, a leaked screenshot obtained by Chinese publication mobile-dad sheds light on its pricing. The smartphone will carry a price tag of RMB 3,500 ($535), about Rs 34,800, approximately. It is slated to release at a first half of 2016.
