TVS Showcases Akula 310 Concept Racer bike based upon BMW G310R

TVS Akula 310, Full Fared BMW G310R

The Naked TVS Apache 200 disappointed some of them while at the same point the New faired TVS Apache will excite most of them. The Akula’s design is inspired by a Shark, which is what the Ruskies also call the scary sea creature.

The main USP of TVS Akula is that the engine is probably identical to the BMW G310R which has been jointly developed by BMW and TVS. Styling is incredibly racy, front to the rear the motorcycle speaks volumes about TVS manufacturing prowess and now even design.

The USD forks, radial calipers, highly stiff space frame chassis added with an aluminium subframe and cast iron swing arm makes us realize that TVS wanted to make this motorcycle as light as they possibly could and provide flexibility to the rider without jeopardizing the dynamics of the motorcycle. The absence of a rear mudguard makes it pretty clear that weight was a serious issue TVS was focused on.

The Akula Concept gets a unique cooling system, inspired by gills of a fish. Akula flaunts Michelin Pilot tires on it which should provide tremendous grip on the tracks. Based on the BMW G310R, the Akula is powered by a liquid cooled 310cc motor that should pump out 34 bhp of power at 9500 rpm and 21 Nm of torque at an early 7500 clicks

Full function digital speedo, on board gyro cameras and a steering damper, are additional bits that will add credence to its dynamic abilities. While the production spec Akula 310 is slated for launch by early 2017.
