After a long waiting we finally get to see Xiaomi Mi 5 hatching from Xiaomi portfolio this year. This is a long-awaited smartphone which is a direct successor to the Mi 4 which was announced back in July 2014. To fill up space left by Xiaomi Mi 5 they brought up a Mi note phablet which was launched back in January last year. Now Xiaomi is busy working on Mi note successors to be launching this year.
The spects you are going to see is Mammoth for any Smartphone and Unbelievable for anybody. The company will, reportedly, release both the Snapdragon 820 and 823-powered Mi Note 2 handsets, and both the 4GB RAM and 6GB RAM models will be available to consumers.
Snapdragon 823 version, what? Yes you read it right. Analyst Pan Jiutang had revealed in February that Snapdragon 823 model number MSM8996 Pro should come with an upgraded CPU (higher clock speed?) but the baseband should be the same and for your information Samsung Galaxy Note 6 is expected to come with this chip.
All of MI Note 2 devices will, allegedly, feature 5.7-inch QHD (2560 x 1440) displays, just like the Mi Note Pro did, and a 3,600mAh battery will be available on the inside, while the 18W Quick Charging will also be a part of the package. The 16-megapixel OIS camera (Sony’s IMX295 sensor) has also been mentioned here, while a 5-megapixel snapper is expected to be available up front. The device will be made out of metal. While this might feature a Curved Display, curved or not this is one of a heck of device.
Finally, coming to the pricing, the phone is said to retail for around 2999 Yuan which comes to $460. That’s not really a bad figure considering all the high-end hardware packed inside. If Xiaomi hits the right cord then it will be a bull’s eye. Its too early to say so take this rumor with a pinch of salt.
