This year is all about HTC and its Nexus Device, as you
might already know, a couple of HTC-made Nexus smartphones are scheduled for
this year. While one of them is internally code-named Sailfish (said to be the
successor to last year’s LG Nexus 5X), the other one carries a code-name of
Marlin.
HTC’s upcoming Nexus handset, codenamed Marlin, has made its
way onto the Geekbench site. The site lists the Marlin’s operating system as
Android N 7.0 – codenamed Nougat: Google’s latest version of its OS.
In terms of performance, the device scored 2,084 points for
single-core whereas 4,969 points for multi-core. As per the benchmarking site,
the smartphone will feature a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display. It will be powered
by a Snapdragon processor clocked at 1.59 GHz paired along with 4GB RAM.

Other rumoured features are 12MP rear camera, 8MP front
camera, speakers at the bottom of the phone, a USB-C port and Bluetooth version
4.2. Expect a 3450mAh battery inside, rear-mounted fingerprint scanner but I
loved to have it in front as by the time it goes in your pocket it start pitching
around and two storage variants: 32GB and 128GB.
Alongside the large-screen model, HTC is also said to be
building a Nexus model featuring 5in screen dubbed Sailfish, which shares most
of the features of the Marlin, except for battery capacity and screen size.
Additionally, both handsets are likely to have identical designs (except size).
Users will not have to wait too long for the new Nexus phones, as HTC is
planning for a launch in the fourth quarter of this year.
