HP Introduces World’s Smallest All-in-one DeskJet Ink Advantage Printer

HP has unveiled its new inkjet printer series called the DeskJet Ink Advantage 3700 All-in-One Series. The printer weighs 2.2 kilograms and HP claims that it is the world’s smallest inkjet all-in-one printer. The 3700 all-in-one printer series offers easy printing from a smartphone or tablet.

The company claims that the DeskJet Ink Advantage 3700 is half the size of other inkjet all-in-one printers in its class. Apart from its compact factor, the printer is also said to be optimised for use with social media platforms such as Facebook and Instagram, with the company’s HP Social Media Snapshots application.
Recently named one of TIME Magazine’s 50 Most Influential Gadgets of All Time, this redesigned DeskJet comes HP Instant Ink-ready and offers the easiest printing from a smartphone or tablet. The HP DeskJet 3700 does not just optimize space, it energizes space with a variety of vivid color hues ranging from Electric Blue to Sea Grass Green and Stone. “Consumers crave tiny, wireless devices that fit into their lifestyle and enable them to stay connected, social and productive wherever they may be,” said Sue Richards, general manager and vice president, HP Consumer Printing. “HP’s new DeskJet turns the traditional consumer printing experience on its head with its innovative, fun design and intuitive mobile connectivity from virtually any device or social network.”


Consumers can print, share and design custom photos from Facebook, Instagram and Flickr or directly from a phone’s camera roll with the free HP Social Media Snapshots application. HP also offers fun 4×5 sticky photo paper tailored just for the Social Media Snapshots app and perfect for decorating a bedroom, locker or sharing with family and friends. Using HP Printbot, Facebook Messenger users can print content effortlessly from a Facebook Messenger conversation. In addition to easily printing photos and documents, the bot allows users to add printers, print from the printer’s history, and order replacement supplies.

The new printer will be available in a variety of different colours and HP says that it is a part of its design strategy of maintaining fashion, form and function. The company also notes that the HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 3700 All-in-One series is aimed at meeting the needs of home printing and is a good fit for millennials.

The HP All-in-One Printer Remote mobile application for the printer is available for Android, iOS, and Windows devices. It allows users features like scanning, printing, and copying wirelessly from their smartphones or tablets.
The company seems to be targeting a wide range of age groups with the printers as it says that the compactness and aesthetics of the printers have been designed to match the needs of the millennials, students, and parents.
