This is the first time when Xiaomi came out from the shadow of Samsung and Apple and managed to deliver something unexpected in this age of technology were all the flagship phone either flat screen or curved screen whereas Xiaomi decided to raise its bar with edge-less Display technology. The Mi Mix a concept smartphone that gives us a glimpse of how advanced technology can transform our future smartphone experience.

The Xiaomi Mix is 6.4-inches of pure awesome display experience. The phone boasts of 91.1% screen to body ratio, which means it can be compact despite its large display. In fact, the company says that with such high screen proportion the Mix’s size is very close to the iPhone 7 Plus! This means you get much better display experience around the same size as current 5.5-inch display smartphones.
The high-end device also features glossy, full ceramic body and buttons, with no earpiece or proximity sensor, allowing for a cleaner look on the device’s top edge. I like to mention while it is fitted with a 6.4” huge display but it feels like you are holding a 5.5” device in your hand due to the non-existent bezels on three of its sides
Xiaomi’s collaboration with famed French designer Philippe Starck on the Mi MIX was another surprise that had helped Xiaomi to craft this beautiful piece. Philippe Starck is the person behind the Mi Mix design.
The rest of the Mi MIX feature is very impressive. This Android phone features a Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 chipset clocked at 2.35GHz, along with either 4GB or 6GB of LPDDR4 RAM, 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.0 storage, a massive 4,400mAh battery with Quick Charge 3.0 support, a fingerprint reader, NFC, HD audio playback, a 16-megapixel main camera and a tiny custom-made 5-megapixel selfie camera (the module is half the size of conventional ones). Like the Mi Note 2, the Mi MIX also supports LTE Cat 11 with download speeds of up to 600Mbps using tri-carrier aggregation.

Xiaomi did face the challenges and to conquered it Xiaomi Mix will be using a cantilever piezoelectric ceramic technology which replaces the traditional ear piece. For proximity sensor, instead of a traditional infrared sensor, the phone will use a special ultrasonic sensor
The Xiaomi Mix uses a 3D ceramic body which is similar to the Mi 5 Pro edition and it could be recalled that the ceramic body slows down production. In this regard, Xiaomi might not likely be producing more than 10,000 units of the device monthly
The Mi MIX will be available in China on November 4th. The base model costs 3,499 yuan (around $516), while the top-end model — which sports 18-karat gold rims around the main camera and fingerprint reader — is priced at 3,999 yuan, or about $590.
