Well, the estimate manufacturing costs for the 64GB have set to $301 (Rs 20,000) with the IHS’ calculation, this is $36.29 higher than last year’s Galaxy S7 edge, and $43.34 upon the standard Galaxy S7.
IHS Markit has not detailed the component price of each device. However, it says that the NAND flash memory and DRAM cost $41.50 (roughly Rs 2,700) in total. The 3,000mAh battery costs $4.50 (roughly Rs 291).
“While there are new non-hardware features in the Galaxy S8 such as the Bixby virtual assistant, from a teardown perspective the hardware in the Galaxy S8 and that of the forthcoming new iPhone is expected to be very similar,” said Andrew Rassweiler, senior director of cost benchmarking services for IHS Markit.
