The Jeep Compass SUV is the least expensive offering due to locally manufactured and comes with 50 safety features including six airbags
That Movement finally arrived for which Indian Audience were waiting for a long time, The all-new Jeep Compass SUV has been finally launched in India with prices starting at a very competitive ₹ 14.95 lakh for the entry-level Sport petrol.
The Pre-bookings for the car had already begun at dealerships across the country. What makes it special is that it purely made in India. To be manufactured at the company’s Ranjangaon facility in Pune, the car helps India join China, Mexico and Brazil as a manufacturing and export hub for the Jeep Compass. Fiat Chrysler Automobiles (FCA) has invested US $280 million in the plant to support local production of Jeep.
The Compass SUV is Jeep’s least expensive offering in the country, which is thanks to “Made in India” program. The all-new Jeep Compass SUV will be offered in a total of three variants – Sport, Longitude and Limited, and will be available in both petrol and diesel engine options.
At this price point, it’ll take on a host of rivals including both Hyundai SUVs – Creta & Tucson, Renault Brezza, Tata Hexa and may undercut larger SUVs like Endeavour and Fortuner. The Jeep Compass surely gonna eat up the shares of all SUV.
The Jeep Compass shares its underpinnings with the Renegade, while the styling has been heavily borrowed from the premium Grand Cherokee SUV. The butch styling and iconic Jeep design is very much place and the SUV is extremely likable to all. What does impress the most is the trademark Jeep grille, accentuated wheel arches, and the LED treatment.
The sharp Xenon head lights further add to the resemblance with the Cherokee while the chrome additions add a bit of premiumness up front. The large and square wheel arch and generous additions of chrome through the length of the window line are the main visual highlights on the side. The rear is rather simple with the nicely-contoured tail-lights standing out.
The Compass’ cabin is also very premium with Ski-Grey McKinley leather upholstery and well-supported seats. The seven-inch infotainment system is not the most responsive to touch but there’s Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, with the added convenience of integrated voice command and Bluetooth audio streaming. There are six speakers all around.
Jeep India says the Compass gets over 50 safety features including hill start assist, full function Traction Control, Electronic Stability Control, Panic Brake Assist, Hydraulic Boost Failure Compensation and Electronic Roll Mitigation. The SUV comes with a total of six airbags. Another big reason to buy Jeep Compass.
The Compass is offered in 1.4-litre petrol Engine with a six-speed manual transmission and auto options as well as a Fiat’s 2.0-litre Multijet II diesel trim. The car will be offered in a 4×4 variant with four drive modes – auto, snow, sand and mud. Jeep says are scalable to BS-VI emission norms, making it future ready.
Jeep India is offering 3 years/100,000 km warranty on the Compass. There is also FCA’s Mopar care with 3-year complimentary 24×7 Roadside Assistance. The service interval is at 15,000/1 year. prices starting at a very competitive ₹ 14.95 lakh for the entry-level Sports petrol and go up to ₹ 20.65 lakh (ex-showroom) for the range-topping diesel.
