Google Nexus 6P is scheduled to receive Android Oreo 8.0 upgrade by Next week
Google has recently releases its next generation of Android Oreo 8.0 upgrade for its Pixel & Nexus device although Pixel series have already joined the latest Android party and they all Pxel & Pixel XL are rocking quite well on Oreo 8.0 while Nexus series is yet to join this party and now we know when they are going to get the ticket to the Android Oreo party.
According to Canadian carrier Rogers’ OS Upgrade Schedule, Nexus 6P might receive the Android Oreo update in a few days. The upgrade has supposedly been scheduled for September 11, 2017.
The carrier maintains a list on its official forums, wherein it details when updates to certain devices will arrive, and what features are incorporated into the software upgrades, and it was recently edited to include the Google Nexus 6P, and its upcoming Android Oreo update
There have also been reports that Huawei and LG need to make amendments to few components of Nexus 6P including radio firmware, in order to get the device ready for Android Oreo. Huawei and LG are also responsible for networking testing of the device and if the aforementioned reports are in fact true the Nexus 6P will receive the update on the reported date.
Android Oreo promises to offer several features to device that includes ‘Picture-in-Picture’ (PiP) mode. In addition to that, Android 8.0 Oreo will take better care of apps that are running in the background, so that they don’t start draining your battery, and notifications are also improved here.
Nexus 6P users might be getting the update soon, however, there is no word whatsoever regarding the update release for Nexus 5X.
