Xiaomi has launched Mi Mix 2 in India to Rival Nokia 8, but which one you should pick in these two?
Xiaomi has launched its one of the Flagship Device Mi Mix 2 in India and we can say that Finally, India gets lucky to see a Xiaomi Flagship device after a very long time, the last flagship device was launched in India by Xiaomi was the Mi 5 which eventually didn’t do well. This time Xiaomi has extended its range towards sub Rs 50,000 and launched Mi Mix 2.
Mi Mix 2 is the blend of art & technology as its come with magnificent bezel-less design & ceramic back that adds it towards more premium Smartphone design and incredibly at the half cost of new Samsung Galaxy Note 8. Xiaomi has launched the Mi Mix 2 smartphone against the Nokia 8 and having a little advantage of having price Rs 1,000 less than the Nokia 8 but is that reason enough to choose Mi Mix 2 over the new Nokia 8.
Both the Mi Mix 2 and Nokia 8 are very much different to each other in terms of design and build quality. The Mi Mix 2 flaunts a 5.9″ inch beautiful 18:9 bezel-less display 1080×2160 pixels and it comes with around 20% bigger screen than Nokia 8, whereas Nokia 8 comes with 5.3″ inch 1440 x 2560 px which eventually means 67% more pixels than Xiaomi Mi Mix. More resolution means sharper and crisper screen.
As per the build quality Mi Mix 2 doesn’t stand near the Nokia 8 as with Metal frame & ceramic body is more likely to get break with just one fall nor it has any Gorilla Glass support while Nokia 8 comes prepared for any tough situation it has Gorilla Glass 5 support while metal body gives extra comfort & security from falling.
Nokia 8 features a 13MP + 13 MP Dual rear cameras with Carl Zeiss lens also f/2.0 aperture, PDAF, IR rangefinder with dual-tone flash. Although, it does lack stabilization but still its picture-perfect Smartphone. The front camera consists of a 13MP sensor with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture.
On the other hand, Mi Mix 2 misses Dual rear Camera vision, Xiaomi has packed a 12 MP sensor with 1.25 µm pixel size on the rear accompanied by a dual tone LED flash. If you want a portrait/bokeh effects or lossless zoom then you’ll be disappointed with the Mi Mix 2 camera other the camera is great and Mi Mix 2 share the same sensor with MI 6
Mi Mix 2 runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat on top of MIUI 9 skin which typically resembles like iOS. As usually you might know that Xiaomi is quite slow enough to provide the latest update, the latest Oreo update is due for next year while there is no such problem in Nokia 8 as it runs on pure Android 7.1.2 and due for Android Oreo update this October only while Nokia has also promised it will be liable to Get Android P as soon it launches.
Rest of the specification are mostly similar like, the Snapdragon 835 processor with 4GB Ram and 64GB Internal in Nokia 8 while Mi Mix 2 double up these figures into 6GB Ram and 128GB Internal and 3,090mAh battery in Nokia 8 while 3,400mAh battery in Mi Mix 2, along with Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 compatibility. One thing to be noted down that Mi Mix 2 doesn’t have 3.5mm headphone Jack.
Here’s the choice can be difficult with just minor differences on both these Smartphone really makes it difficult to choose one from these two. On top of that, the pricing difference is so thin that it again makes its hell lot difficult to choose from. Nokia 8 is priced at 36,999 ($560) while Mi Mix 2 priced at Rs 35,999 ($545) so the difference is about Just Rs 1,000. In my opinion, Mi Mix 2 is worthy Smartphone in these two but Nokia 8 is also nevertheless, if you are not so techy person and want’s a phone for the long run and for pure performance then Nokia 8 is the right choice for you.
If you are more likely a tech enthusiastic person and wants to look out of this crowd then Mi Mix 2 is made for you with it looks you might give a tough competition to iPhone X owners while my only concerned is it weak design, So
“If you are tough person like Nokia then buy Mi Mix 2 but if you are soft hand person like Mi Mix 2 then buy Nokia 8”
