Google’s Play Apps will soon get a whole new Redesign icons

A handful of Google’s applications reside under the “Play”
moniker. Play Store, Play Movies & TV, Play Music, Play Games, Play
Books and Play Newsstand are all apps we’ve come to know and love over the
years, but their app icons have never really been all that consistent with one

Thankfully that’s about to change. Google has just announced that it will soon be rolling out an update
that will bring a more consistent look across the entire family of Play
apps. As you can see in the image above, it’s clear that all of the apps
come from the same family. They each sport the triangular Google Play shape,
along with a small icon that lets you know which app is which.

“You’ll start to see the new Google Play icons across
devices and online in the coming weeks. We hope you’ll continue enjoying the
Play family of products—now with a new look” said Jonathan Chung, Visual Design
Lead, Google Play
