The Xiaomi Redmi 3s is leading the sub-Rs 10,000 segment while there are other players too in the race but they are not even close to Redmi 3s in terms of power or the specification but the thing soon going to be changed for Xiaomi as Lenovo has entered in this segment with the new K6 power that going to give Redmi 3s toughest competition and it has proved to be the toughest contender for Redmi 3s
Earlier this month, Lenovo launched the K6 Power smartphone, which is priced at Rs 9,999. This is a Quick Hands-On Review of Lenovo K6 covering all aspect of pros & cons
Whats Inside the Box: Handset, user manual, warranty card, data cable, cheap earphone, charger, sim ejector pin.
Design & Display
As per the designed is concerned it look like a mini version of Redmi Note 3 the Design is identical to Xiaomi Redmi Note 3 as the camera is placed in the middle alongside a LED flash and the fingerprint scanner, similar to the arrangement on the Xiaomi Redmi Note 3.
Lenovo branding can be seen on the lower back, along with dual speaker grilles. The front of the K6 Power is dominated by a 5-inch screen, with capacitive navigation buttons below but what disappoint me the absence of backlit in the navigation Key
The all-metal body gives the K6 Power a premium feels, though it also makes the phone a bit slippery.
If we talked about the Display, The 5-inch full HD display has a pixel density of 441ppi, 450-nit brightness, and 178-degree viewing angles. All of this in a smaller screen gives fairly a better experience while watching high-resolution videos or even playing graphic intensive games. The Colour reproduction in Lenovo K6 power is very good. Under direct sunlight, Its struggle a lot and that’s the case with others also.
Power Specification and Hardware
The Lenovo K6 Power is powered by the same Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor that we’ve seen in the Xiaomi Redmi 3S Prime. This octa-core SoC is clocked at 1.4GHz and is coupled with 3GB of RAM. The phone has 32GB of inbuilt storage and supports expansion using a microSD card (up to 128GB).
During my usage, I didn’t come across any lag while multitasking, and never needed to kill a few apps to keep the phone functioning smoothly. With 32GB Internal Storage you get 26GB Storage for your use while 8GB of Storage used in it for UI and other apps. The Lenovo K6 power has enough power to deal with heavy games likes Marvel Clash of Champions and Real Racing 3.
The Lenovo K6 Power runs on Android 6.0 Marshmallow with Lenovo’s Vibe Pure UI on top. The company has been reducing the bloatware on its smartphones, and the UI on the K6 Power definitely felt smooth, fast as well as accurate. The thing in Lenovo K6 which I find very strange is that there no Gallery you have to use Google Photo to view picture. Google Photos is preinstalled but not set as the default photo handler. There are plenty of software already loaded for your daily use.
The Lenovo K6 Power comes with a 13-megapixel Sony IMX258 sensor camera with LED flash, Pro-mode, PDAF support, slow motion and time lapse. It’s worth mentioning the focus is pretty quick in Lenovo K6 power thanks to PDAF. I have tested Lenovo K6 Power in low-light condition only not in broad daylight so we are not in a state to past the judgment regarding camera power. As per low light condition, the camera tends to struggle. The front camera is a Plus point with an 8-megapixel (Sony IMX219) sensor and a wide-angle lens its takes brilliant pic even in low light. It has a Pro mode which lets you customize white balance, ISO, and brightness among others. We promise you to bring out and update all new details regarding Lenovo K6 power camera.
Battery, a sheer power
One of the biggest highlights of the Lenovo K6 Power is the 4,000mAh battery. And it is pretty impressive as well. The battery can easily see you a day with single full charge despite medium to heavy usage. During My usage, I have used it for 4 hours continuously and it registers only 3% of drainage in battery that’s very impressive.
Even though the smartphone offers you a large 4,000mAh battery, you can still further optimize the battery life via different modes. There’s a Battery Saver mode, which reduces device’s performance and limits vibration, location services, and most background data. Email, messaging and other apps that rely on syncing go into sleep mode unless you open them. One thing worth mentioning, It support reverse charging which means you can charge another phone with it.
Other feature: The K6 Power comes with a hybrid SIM slot, letting you either go for dual SIMs or one SIM and microSD card. Connectivity options include 4G with VoLTE support, Wi-Fi 802.11n, USB OTG support, Bluetooth 4.1 and GPS.
The fingerprint scanner is quite quick enough to read your finger print it unlock the phone instantly, The Sound is loud and clear but doesn’t expect from Dolby Atoms to make any difference in terms of Sound but ya it comes helpful when its connected to the earphone.
Lenovo K6 power available at Rs 9,999 with this pricing and it just hard to resist, Lenovo K6 power come with promising features, impressive Metal-body, and powerful battery it’s hard to take your eyes away From it. The vivid colors on Full HD Display will definitely amaze you and make your VR experience even better with TheaterMax app including 360-degree videos. The Snapdragon 430 processor with 3GB Ram is enough for your Daily & heavy tasks. The battery life and display are no doubt the biggest notable features on the K6 Power. If Xiaomi Redmi 3s is not your choice then it should be one and only Lenovo K6 power there is no looking back with K6 power as it has much more power than others in sub-Rs 10,000 segments.
