Star Sport seeing the Ind vs Pak Final as a big opportunity to Cash in the Big Amount from the advertisements
India will take on the Pakistan tomorrow in the Finals of Champion Trophy at the Oval and it’s going to be the Clash of Titans all eyes Glued to the TV Sets and Star Sports surely going to attract lots more people than any other Channel and with the increase in the no of viewership the prices of TV ads are likely to go higher during the match.
When the last time India met Pakistan in Group Match fight in this Champion Trophy, with India winning easily, it had attracted more than 200 million people watch the entire match. According to BARC, for Sunday India vs Pakistan, it going to be 30-40 increase around 300 million people are expected to watch the game.
“That was a league game, this is the final,” the person said. “You can expect this to be even bigger.”
As per multiple media buyers, Star Sports saw this opportunity of making higher money and has increased rates of ads five times during India vs Pakistan match on Sunday for the limited inventory. Star India looking for Cash Rs 20 Lakhs for 10 sec of advertisement during the Ind vs Pak final on Sunday, Compare this to average Rs 4 Lakhs for same duration in the tournament. However, the broadcaster gets only 5% of ad inventory during a cricket match which is about 250-300 sec.
So basically a 30 sec advertisement is expected to cost near about whopping Rs 60 lakhs and even more with above 30 sec duration.
Most of the TV spots for the final, to be played in London, were pre-booked with firms such as Nissan Motor, Intel Corp, Emirates, Chinese mobile maker Oppo and Indian tire maker MRF signed up as commercial partners for the tournament.
