Xiaomi tied up with Samsung for sourcing OLED panels in their 2018 flagship devices

Xiaomi has tied up with the Samsung for its OLED display panels ditching the LG. Samsung also supplies the panels to multiple other brands and Apple is one of its customers and same OLED Display you gonna see on iPhone 8 over 70 million display panels have been ordered till now by Apple.

According to the reports, Xiaomi was initially to seal the deal with LG. However, owing to delayed production timelines, the brand decided to go ahead with Samsung instead. The major breaker came from LG side as they still setting up the E5 plant and the production will not commence before August while Samsung already has settled up and can supply the OLED panels to Xiaomi without any delay

Xiaomi is believed to have initially placed an order for 1 million OLED displays in the first month followed by 2.2 million displays in the second month. The display measure about 6.01-inch rigid OLED display, which hints about upcoming Mi Max 2 or else Note series but without curved as they are standard panel

Keep in mind these OLED panels are locked for the 2018 Xiaomi flagship device. Xiaomi ‘Chiron’ is another device on the list to feature OLED display along with Snapdragon 835 chipset and 6GB or 8GB RAM. Xiaomi is expected to announce the smartphone in early 2018.
