OnePlus recently unveils its latest flagship in the form of the OnePlus 5T, the successor of the popular OnePlus 5 with great new features and add-on. Today we look at the 5 new awesome features in the latest OnePlus 5T.

Full Vision 18:9 Display

OnePlus 5T feature an all-new 6-inch AMOLED display in the increasingly popular 18:9 ratio although 5T has roughly the same physical space as the OnePlus 5 but the screen size has been increased from 5.5 inches to 6.1 inches.

It’s a disappointment that OnePlus 5T still running at 1080×2160 resolution while the world had moved to 2K Display.

Face Unlock In 0.4 Seconds

The OnePlus 5T comes with new features, called Face Unlock. It takes the advantage of the smartphone’s 16-megapixel front camera and creates a facial recognition solution which helps in Unlocking the phone. According to the company, the service allows users to unlock their devices in 0.4 seconds, thus provide an efficient alternative for the fingerprint scanner.

The company also says that it is based on advanced facial recognition algorithms that use over 100 facial features identity points to “securely unlock” the smartphone in 0.4 seconds

Updated Dual Rear Camera

OnePlus has decided to upgrade their Dual Rear Camera in 5T to the more superior compared to the OnePlus 5. While primary sensor remains same as OnePlus 5, being a 6-megapixel Sony IMX398 sensor with 1.12-micron pixels, and an aperture of f/1.7.

The difference can be seen in the secondary camera, which was previously powered by a 20-megapixel Sony IMX350 sensor and paired with a telephoto lens, has now been replaced with a 20-megapixel Sony IMX376K sensor. It also upgrades the aperture to f/1.7 and focal length to 27.22mm – the same as the primary sensor.

Friendlier UI

OnePlus also says it has redesigned the camera UI on the OnePlus 5T, making it easier to access all the features with using the smartphone with one hand, thanks to new swipe gestures.

Now the fingerprint sensor can be used to take the selfie, just by long-press the fingerprint sensor at the back and swipe the fingerprint sensor to bring up the notification shade.

The Pricing

The final feature is the price. OnePlus has kept the 5T pricing same as the OnePlus 5 – £449/ $499 in the UK/US for the 6GB RAM 64GB variant, and £499 for the 8GB/128GB model. The OnePlus 5T is pretty much a straight switch for the OnePlus 5. While the rest of feature remain same as OnePlus 5.
