Insta360 Air is exclusively made for Android Smartphone to capture 360 Images & Video
The Insta360 Air Camera is a unique device that turns your Android smartphone into a 360° camera. With this device attached to your phone, you can capture 360° images and video and look to the world in a new way.
The Insta360 camera is quite compact and pretty much lightweight and ultra-portable which is the plus point for the camera like this, as it’s very much easy to carry out anywhere, it proves right that “Big things come in Small packages” and you don’t have to carry out external batteries or should be concerned about charging as it gets it power from Smartphone only. This lightweight and compact spherical camera connects to your device via USB Type-C or a Micro-USB (My device is Micro-USB one)
As soon you plug the camera into your phone’s USB-port launches the Insta360 app upside-down which lets you capture images, record video or live-stream to YouTube or a web-address easily.
What I like about the app is that you get the lots of Instagram filters which you can apply to the preview image and also apply various stickers after that you get a Various range of sharing option from full 360-degree photos/video to ‘tiny-planet’ style images or animations as well as Screenshot. Tiny Planet is one of the most popular filters and my favorite too.
Additionally, the app also has VR Mode available at top right corner whenever you like to views the image or video in your VR BOX headset. You can live stream on Facebook and youtube from the app itself. On the homepage, you can also view the daily selected 360 degree images from the users around the Globe its feels like you have a special bonding with other Insta360 users. Overall the app is nicely designed, works flawlessly as it trained to work.
Insta360 Air is exclusively for Android (5.1 or higher). The Insta360 Air captures photos with a size of 3008 x 1504 pixels while in video mode the Insta360 Air can record 2560 x 1280 video resolution but when you toggle to Video mode it starts recording in 960p and you have to set it manually which is irritating quite sometimes.
The 360 images captured in good lighting condition are great but in the darker area or even in shadow the picture losses its quality even at the higher rate of 3008 x 1504. The Insta360 Air’s built-in advanced stabilization algorithm so you don’t remain to be still you can rotate/twist/flip the camera around and it will track properly. I have tried the Insta360 Air with my Mi Redmi Note 3 the picture quality from Air is quite good but the background seems pretty low resolution and same goes in Video mode my best guess will be due to stretch in images to make it a perfect 360 image or video.
The good thing is that it doesn’t require battery so you can go long and long but…… not really as much your Smartphone can sustain the battery sucker Insta360 as it draws large amount of power from the phone only, although my phone packs a 4000mAh battery which had survived the battery consumption of insta360 but battery less than that figures will raise some concerned in my mind. Check out all the feature of Insta360 Air with 360 images and video samples below in the video
Note – Just make sure after the use slips into a rubber protective case that keeps it secure and prevents the lenses from being scratched
“Anybody can capture a 360-images in an easy way and have lots of fun with a tiny Golf-sized ball devices even your grandparents love this device”
It is one of the most affordable 360-degree cameras we have seen and it’s perfectly blended with your Smartphone thought app as if it was an essential part of your Smartphone. It doesn’t break your bank as this device can be your at just $94, the Air is an interesting gadget. If we neglect its tiny flaws then definitely this device should find a place in your travel suitcase.
