Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 uses Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology
Xiaomi has mesmerized everyone with its Redmi Note 5 Pro series and even every tech enthusiastic person going Ga! Ga! over its features and price. Essentially it has become India most wanted Smartphone of 2018 just after the launch that’s because for the price it has all the ingredients in it whether we talk about Dual Camera, Selfie Camera, 18:9 Display, latest Snapdragon processor but still there is a Suspense on its fast charging technology and today we will try to unwrap it.
At the launch event Xiaomi didn’t utter a single word about its fast charging technology in Redmi Note 5 pro but like everybody we also believe that the fast charging technology is hidden somewhere in it as Xiaomi sometime doesn’t like to talk about some of the device feature as sometimes it would incur a royalty fees and does not pay a license fee, otherwise it can make device more pricy Ex – Cornea Gorilla Glass 3, 2, 1 – they don’t tell you every time which no of Gorilla Glass is used in the device.
Well thanks to Geekyranjit, we have the answer to our question. In a recent test, Geekyranjit showed us in his Video that Redmi Note 5 Pro actually supports fast charging technology and it is using Qualcomm 2.0 technology to charge the device much faster. As Redmi Note 5 Pro sucking a total of 9V of charge instead of 5V but here Xiaomi is supplying old 5V charger in the box with the Redmi Note 5 Pro and you won’t be able to use this fast charging technology until you buy 9V charger separately as a spare part.
Earlier on the social network site Weibo, A representative of Xiaomi answered the questions of Journalist and said, “Yes, both of these mobile devices can indeed be quickly charged using Qualcomm Quick Charge 2.0 technology, directly through the microUSB connector that is installed in the phones”
Thankfully Xiaomi also sells 9V charger that comes with Qualcomm 3.0 technology and priced very cheaply while other quality Qualcomm Charger 3.0 ranges from Rs 1,200 to 2,000 Xiaomi sells it at the cheap pricing of just Rs 499 only but the sad part when will they come in stock nobody knows.
