Xiaomi Mi 8 to feature 3D Facial Recognition Module just like iPhone X Face Recognition Setup
Xiaomi has already announced that it will have an event in Shenzhen where Xiaomi is rumored to announce the Mi 7 or a Mi 8. Although there still confusion between the name of Xiaomi flagship device whether it is Mi 7 or Mi 8 or both can be launched at the same time as a Xiaomi’s 8th Anniversary Edition.
Xiaomi Mi 8 just surfaced online and it revealed an interesting feature which no other Android Smartphone flaunts it. Under the Notch of Xiaomi Mi 8, there is a 3D structured light technology which means it can provide the same face 3D recognition features as the iPhone X. Moreover, the image also shows a modified version of the MIUI for the notch.
As per the Reports, the 3D facial recognition solution for Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship phone is being jointly developed by Qualcomm, Himax Technologies and Truly Opto-electronics. Xiaomi Mi 8 may debut as the first Android phone with the 3D facial scanning technology.
Well, it means that those of Android users who hate the Notch Segment Smartphone will fall in love with the Xiaomi Mi 8 and its a 3D structured light technology.
How does the 3D facial recognition work? – The 3D facial scanning/Face ID feature allows it to carry out authentication by scanning the face of the user in 3D. It captures the face data accurate by analyzing more than 30,000 invisible dots to make a depth map on the face of the user. At the same time, it also captures an infrared image of the face. This technology is more secure and can be used for mobile payments.
As per the specs, It features a 5.65-inch bezel-less IPS LCD display with a notch to house the 3D facial recognition related sensors, front camera, and earpiece. To be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 and have 8GB of RAM with Dual Camera setup which may have a 2x optical zoom lens and 4K video recording capabilities.
Other features include on-display fingerprint scanner, a 3,350mAh cell, Android 8.1 with MIUI 9 on top and as per pricing is concerned it could be available as high as $600 (Rs 40,000) The Xiaomi Mi 7 will have its pre-orders started on May 27. It has very bright chances to be launched in India
